Carl F. Allen
Carl F. Allen, President of InfoCore, Inc., has more than 20
years experience in the Information Technology (IT) industry and
has been associated with securing and auditing LANS, Intranets
and the Internet during the last 12 years. A much in-demand
speaker on IT enterprise security and audit topics, Mr. Allen
associates with many professional organizations and is a member
of the IIA and ISACA. He holds an MBA from the University of
Denver and Bachelor's degrees in both Mathematics and Applied
Physics from Weber State University.
Beginning his career in the oil and banking industries, he
quickly became involved in network application consulting with
Wang. He then spent 5 years at Novell, first as a senior
consultant in Novell Consulting Services managing and directing
security consulting projects for strategic partners and key
customers, then as Senior Security Product Manager and Manager
of the Security Component Business Team. While at Novell he
launched its Global Network Security Architecture and advised
Utah's Governor's Office in the formation of its Digital
Signature Act.
As a principal consultant at InfoCore since 1995, he has managed
and been involved in more than 45 security and audit consulting
projects, has been a keynote or specialized topic speaker at
more than 30 US and International IT security and audit
conferences, and has worked with over 3000 executives in
industry security and audit briefings designed and delivered by
InfoCore. Areas of focus and industry expertise include:
enterprise security architectures for IT environments; directory
services security including X.500, Novell Directory Services (NDS),
Active Directory and LDAP; public key infrastructure and
certificate authorities; secure electronic communications
infrastructure component integration; enterprise e-mail and
messaging security architectures; encryption and digital
certificates solutions; e-commerce audit and security models;
audit and security of NetWare and NDS; Windows NT and Windows
2000 security and audit integration.
Under the direction of Mr. Allen, InfoCore provides consulting
services, advisory consulting, training consulting and product
solutions to the IT industry. Additionally, InfoCore has
published articles for various industry publications and has
provided input to industry representatives of the NIST CRADA,
Federal PKI Technical Working Group, Key Recovery Alliance, Key
Management Infrastructure, GITS committee, the Black Forest
Security Group and the WebSec 2001 Special User Group
Initiative.
As a practicing consultant at InfoCore, Carl is currently
working with select domestic and international organizations
about the role of public key and digital security technologies
and their use in electronic banking, insurance, healthcare,
energy, and other technology and e-business environments. In
addition, he is participating in US and International IT
industry efforts with regards to security, audit and control for
electronic information and technology in traditional business
and e-business environments.
