Environmental Stress Screening 2000
Final Report of NCMS Project No. 16-0301 (April 1997)
Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) 2000 was an industry
collaborative project sponsored by the National Center For
Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS) with a goal of
identifying/evaluating cost-effective ESS processes for the 21st
century. This team evaluated three accelerated ESS
technologies/processes with three different companies subjecting
their products to the evaluations. The three ESS
technologies/processes are: (1) Highly Accelerated Life Test (HALTä)
Highly Accelerated Stress Screen (HASSä), (2) Electro-Dynamic
Accelerated Life Test (ACLT) / Accelerated Stress Screen (ACSS),
and (3) Liquid Environmental Stress Screening (LESS). The ESS
2000 project presentation includes a description of the
technologies/processes that were evaluated, the evaluations
performed, and the conclusions reached. Project participants
included; Raytheon Systems Company, StorageTek, Hamilton
Sundstrand, Lucent, JPL, and Aerospace.
The NCMS member price is $75.00 per copy ($100.00 for
