operations. This session will view all systems development
decisions from a competitive advantage “filter.
Linking information among disparate parts of the organization in
order to:
-Provide better customer service
Enhance knowledge of the customer
-Using IT to reduce transaction or analytical costs
Discuss integrated software and the appropriate use of
integrated packages
-Present advantages and disadvantages of pre-packaged
application software
-Develop “build vs. buy” decisions relative to software
development (similar to the manufacturing purchase vs. in-house
production decision)
-Follow a methodology by using an approach to new systems
development and implementation that provides periodic
deliverables and decision points
