including units of measurement. Techniques of safety will be
presented and reinforced using demonstrations, where
appropriate. Laser bioeffects will be covered including
discussions of laser accidents with examples. The concepts of
laser hazard classes will be covered. Basic hazard analysis will
conclude with eyewear filter (OD) and hazard distance (NHZ)
determinations. The course concludes with a review of controls
needed for safe laser operation.
Introduction - (3 minutes) is a brief explanation of what this
series is about and the contents of the course.
